Tall & Handsome and I use mostly Kosher salt (and sometimes sea salt) in our cooking and baking. One great benefit to using Kosher salt is the fact it is lower in sodium. I’m not quite sure how that works, but it’s something about its composition. Because it’s a courser salt, Kosher salt just doesn’t seem to be a good fit for a regular salt shaker.
Anyway a few years ago when T & H and I were getting a regular diet of Food Network viewing, T & H in particular loved to watch Alton Brown’s Good Eats. Alton used a salt cellar which of course, T & H being the gadget geek that he is, had to have.
We got our salt cellar and it has traveled from home to home with us. And, as a matter of fact, Mom fell it love with it and got one for herself.
While were in our temporary location our little salt cellar is at home with all of the “big guys”, better known as our wonderful cooking gadgets, cookbooks and other cooking gear.
Slowly but surely we are adding one for here and one for there of various things which may seem redundant but in the long run will be ok. They will either replace old standbys or stock the kitchen downstairs and then we’ll have one for upstairs and one for downstairs…
Here’s our recent addition to our one for here and one for there collection…
